A dangerous incident occurred yesterday (June 22) in the city of Uzyn, Kyiv Oblast, when a 6-year-old child was trapped in a metal structure hidden underwater in the Uzynka River. According to the report by ✙ Київ Оперативний | Kyiv Operative ✙, the call to the emergency center was received at 17:16, and a rescue team from the local fire station arrived at the scene shortly thereafter.
The teams used hydraulic equipment to free the leg of the child, who was born in 2020. According to Труха⚡️Київ, which is associated with faster and more sensational reports, the child could not free himself and miraculously escaped drowning. The incident ended without significant physical injuries, as also reported by the channels Реальний Київ | Украина and Київ | Times.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), cited by UA Stream, used the incident to issue a serious warning to the public. They called on parents to show responsibility and choose only "regulated and approved bathing areas," as dangerous objects such as metal parts, tree roots, and debris that pose a real life-threatening danger can be found under the water's surface.
