Today, June 22, 2026, significant power outages were reported in several districts of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. According to the Оперативний ЗСУ channel, which reports from a pro-Ukrainian stance, electricity was cut off in the Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Darnytskyi districts. Similar reports appeared on the Ху Київ + | Україна and КЛОЧОК channels, which noted that the malfunctions led to the temporary shutdown of the local funicular and certain trolleybus lines, including lines 43 and 50.

The reasons for the power outages in the capital have not yet been officially clarified. The Інформатор Київ channel emphasized that as of now, "the reasons are unknown," and added that it is a widespread disruption making public transportation in the city difficult.

At the same time, at the national level, the UA Stream channel cites data from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to which the situation in the energy system remains tense. According to the ministry, "the most complex situation is in the Donetsk and Kherson regions," where widespread power outages were recorded as a result of "hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure." It was also reported that in the Sumy region, two energy workers were injured while performing their duties.

In addition to disruptions due to combat, local authorities in other cities announced planned maintenance work. Суспільне Дніпро provided an update on planned disconnections in the cities of Dnipro, Zelenodolsk, Zhovti Vody, and Kamianske for repair work, and Odesa.online published a list of streets in Odesa where similar disruptions are expected due to routine maintenance.
