Ukrainian forces eliminated a Russian drone operator who targeted civilians in Kherson
Ukraine's security forces reported the elimination of a Russian drone operator who was reportedly directly involved in committing "crimes against humanity" by hunting civilians in the city of Kherson. According to UA Stream, this was a targeted military operation aimed at stopping individuals involved in deliberate attacks against the civilian population.
Activist and volunteer Serhii Sternenko (STERNENKO) – known for his resolute support of the Ukrainian war effort and criticism of Russia – revealed that the target eliminated was linked to a Russian Telegram channel that publishes footage of attacks against civilians. Sternenko noted that among the administrators of the channel is collaborator Oleksandr Shpotura, who was awarded the rank of major general in 2023 by Putin and is known for his past involvement in kidnappings and torture in Donetsk.
In a message posted by Sternenko, he published a list of additional names of members of the group involved in this activity and confirmed that he is offering a monetary reward for the elimination of each of them. Sternenko called on the fighters who carried out the elimination to contact him to receive the monetary reward he promised.
The report highlights the ongoing struggle of Ukrainian defense forces against Russian drone units operating in the Kherson region. The information highlights the direct link between operators on the ground and the Russian chain of command, against the backdrop of the ongoing war in the area.
