Overnight and this morning (18.06.2026), Kyiv and other regions in Ukraine were under a widespread drone attack, which led to the activation of prolonged air raid alerts. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected moving in several waves toward the capital, Boryspil, Brovary, and other areas.
Local Telegram channels, including Realnyi Kyiv and Trukhsa Kyiv, reported live on the flight paths of the drones. Trukhsa Kyiv noted that at least "5 drones moved towards Kyiv" early in the morning, while the Realna Viyna channel reported on a "group of 11 'Shaheds' that broke through towards the capital," and noted that central areas of the city were the focus of the attack.
Reports point to the use of various technologies, as monitoring sources like Monitor identified the passage of "Jet UAVs" over the Brovary district, which indicates the use of more advanced means than standard drones. The public was instructed by the City Administration (KMDA) to remain in shelters throughout the morning hours due to the ongoing danger.
Operational activity concluded around 07:44 AM, at which time an "All Clear" was announced by most official sources, including eRadar. Despite the intensity of the attack, local channels focused on reporting flight paths and interceptions, as security forces have yet to release an official summary regarding the extent of damage or casualties.
