Extensive drone attack on Kyiv and the Boryspil area
This morning, June 18, 2026, a significant air strike using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) was reported in the Kyiv region. The Ukrainian Air Force updated that a large number of drones were identified in the Baryshivka and Boryspil area as they were on their way to the capital, and called on residents to enter protected spaces.
War Monitor channel, which reports on military events, stated that seven drones were identified crossing the Boryspil district toward the city of Kyiv. This figure was also confirmed by the ZSU DVIG channel, which is identified with a pro-Ukrainian stance and is critical of Russia.
At the same time, the Kyiv Dome channel tracked the movements of the vehicles in real-time and reported a split in the attack formation: "5 aircraft between Kyiv and Boryspil" and another group that made its way toward the Koncha-Zaspa area. The channel updated later that despite direction changes that were detected, the main target remained Kyiv.
Ukrainian air defense authorities continue to closely monitor the swarms that entered the airspace. As of now, no damage or casualties have been reported as a result of the current wave.
