Sumy Oblast in Ukraine suffered a series of attacks yesterday, June 17, 2026, using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that severely damaged critical infrastructure. The main focus of the damage was the sorting center of the leading shipping company Nova Poshta, where a direct hit was reported, causing an estimated 42 million hryvnia in damage. According to Ukraine NOW reports, there were over 13,000 parcels in the facility at the time. The company has pledged to compensate customers for the loss and noted that it is facing significant logistical difficulties due to the Russian policy of targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure.

At the same time, media outlets such as hromadske and Novyny.LIVE reported on the destruction of gas stations in the city of Trostianets, raising concerns about a regional fuel supply shortage. The head of the local military administration, Oleh Hryhorov, clarified that the system is preparing to deploy mobile gas stations to prevent a logistical collapse.

The consequences of the attacks also took a toll on human life. According to Suspilne Novyny, one person was reported dead as a result of the strikes, and a 35-year-old woman was injured in the Zarichne area of Sumy, as reported by ZN.UA. Ukrainian media outlets, which present a consistent stance highlighting the terrorist nature of the Russian attacks, emphasize that this is a planned attempt to harm the economy and daily civilian services.

Operatyvnyi ZSU and other channels affiliated with the Ukrainian military emphasized that despite the scale of the destruction, emergency teams are working on the ground to assess the damage. Reports are united around the message that Russia continues to "use terror against logistical infrastructure" as a tool in the total war against the civilian population.
