Extensive Ukrainian offensive against Russian logistics at sea and on land

Over the past 24 hours, from June 16 to the night of June 17, 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of targeted strikes against military and logistical targets of the Russian army. Reports published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicate a strike on the oil tanker "FINA A" (IMO 9283306) in the Black Sea. The tanker, identified as part of Russia's "shadow fleet," was reportedly used to transport crude oil and its products while circumventing international sanctions imposed by the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ukraine.

Simultaneously with the naval attack, Ukraine NOW reports that critical transport infrastructure in occupied southern Ukraine was targeted. Among the targets hit were a road bridge over the North Crimean Canal near the settlement of Stavky and another bridge in the Vynohradne area of the Kherson region. According to an update from Suspilne News, these structures were used by occupying forces to transfer troops and supplies between the occupied territories.

Across the front, the destruction of other key Russian points was reported. According to information provided by Operativno ZSU, command and observation posts were attacked in the Velyka Novosilka area (Donetsk region), as well as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command centers in numerous regions: Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, and even inside Russian territory in the Kursk region. DW Ukraine noted in this context that the Russian-appointed governor of the Kherson region, Saldo, claimed his forces "repelled" a massive drone attack on the bridges in the area, a claim that contradicts Ukrainian reports regarding the success of the strike.

The actions come against the backdrop of tightened international sanctions. Radio Svoboda as well as military channels clarified that the UK and Canada recently imposed an additional round of restrictions against the Russian military industry and dozens of other vessels belonging to the "shadow fleet." These sources, along with TSN, emphasized that the Ukrainian campaign is intended to systematically reduce the financing and logistical capabilities of the Russian aggressor.
