The incident escalated into a "verbal dispute that turned into a brawl," following which the woman was hospitalized. The local police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the case, with both sides filing mutual complaints.
In response to the incident, the state acted with a firm hand. The authorities ordered that his permanent residency certificate be declared "invalid," along with its seizure and destruction.
