A series of severe road accidents took place today across Ukraine, with buses involved in collisions in the heart of Kyiv and the Lviv region, leading to several casualties and traffic disruptions.
A difficult day on Ukraine's roads: Bus accidents in Kyiv and Lviv
Throughout the day, June 16, 2026, a number of significant traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles and public transportation were reported. In the capital, Kyiv, a city bus on route 63 veered off its path and crashed into a bus stop on Boryspilska Street in the Darnytsia district. According to reports from ТСН новини (which follows an editorial line supporting Ukraine), the incident occurred after the bus driver "felt unwell during the trip," which led to hitting two women who were at the stop.
Similar reports were verified by additional local channels, including Київ Головне and Труха⚡️Київ, which noted that medical teams were operating at the scene to provide first aid. ✙ Київ Оперативний emphasized that the authorities are investigating the circumstances of the case, while UA Stream reported additional traffic disruptions in the area due to a separate accident on the Boryspil highway.
Simultaneously, in the Lviv region, other severe transportation incidents were recorded. Труха⚡️Львів reported a multi-vehicle accident on the Kyiv-Chop road, involving two trucks and a private car, an event that led to the hospitalization of the private car driver. In addition, UA Stream reported a collision between a school bus and a truck in the city of Peremyshliany, an accident that ended in injuries to two passengers, including a child.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet published a full update on the condition of all those injured in the various incidents, but it has been a day full of incidents that caused heavy congestion on major traffic routes in both the capital and Lviv.
