Ukraine unveils Sea Trident: New underwater power

At the international Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, the Ukrainian defense industry presented the Sea Trident («Morskyi Tryzub»), a heavy unmanned underwater vehicle designed to carry out strategic missions. According to a report by Operativno ZSU, it is an autonomous vehicle capable of managing complex missions, including long-range strikes, logistics, and even the interception of hostile underwater vessels.

Technical specifications and operational capabilities

The vessel, developed by the company Global Mark, is characterized by significant capabilities:

• Payload: Capable of carrying up to 1,000 kg of explosives or other cargo.


• Range and speed: According to Taras Grigorevich, the maximum range reaches 2,000 miles (about 3,700 km), at a cruising speed of 11 km/h and a maximum speed of 18.5 km/h.


• Camouflage and depth: The vehicle specializes in low-signature operations, with the ability to dive to a depth of up to 60 meters, although some sources such as Novynu Ukraina note an operating capability of up to a depth of 200 meters.

Objectives and interpretation

Most Ukrainian media channels, including UaOnlii and Ukraina Nowosti, emphasize the potential of the vessel to strike "strategic targets" and hint directly at the Crimean Bridge as a possible destination. These sources, which present a distinctly pro-Ukrainian stance and cover the war from a pro-national effort angle, describe the vessel as a "monster" designed to change the balance of power in the Black Sea.

In addition to the Sea Trident, Operativno ZSU noted that Ukraine also presented the UAV-290 jet drone at the exhibition, which has a speed of up to 800 km/h and a range of 650 km, designed for striking static targets. Militarnyi added that alongside the underwater vehicles, another underwater and surface vessel named Triton, designed to carry diverse armament, was also displayed.
