On the morning of June 15, 2026, Telegram channels in Ukraine reported an extensive missile attack by Russia. According to the Київ Головне channel, the Russian military launched X-101 cruise missiles, with the channel emphasizing that many of the missiles are equipped with "cluster warheads" and urging the public to exercise increased caution according to this report.
The Душная община channel, known for its pro-Russian stance and criticism of the government in Kyiv, reported that launches of X-101 and X-555 missiles were identified from Tu-160 and Tu-95MS strategic bombers. According to the channel's assessments, the missiles were expected to reach Ukraine's borders between 04:20 and 05:20.
Later that morning, the Київ Головне channel updated that there is a high probability that additional waves of cruise missiles will cross the border on their way to targets within Ukraine according to this update. Residents of the threatened areas were urged to remain in protected spaces in light of the continued aerial activity.
