The 'Omega' units thwart new Russian drone technology

Special forces of the National Guard of Ukraine, specifically units of the Special Center 'Omega' (ЦСП «Омега»), report successes in intercepting upgraded models of the Russian "Molniya" (Lightning) attack drones. According to ЦАПЛІЄНКО_UKRAINE FIGHTS, a channel presenting a distinctly pro-Ukrainian stance, the new drones "carry additional FPV UAVs on their backs" and also function as repeaters to extend the operational range of Russian forces.

The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pivnenko, confirmed the reports and stated that the 'Omega' fighters successfully intercepted these vehicles, which pose an increased threat due to their ability to deepen the enemy's strike ranges (UA Stream).

In an official report by Національна гвардія України | НГУ and Pravda Gerashchenko, it is claimed that the Russians "continue to refine their means of attack," which creates "additional risks to personnel and equipment." Nevertheless, fighters from the 1st and 4th units of 'Omega' demonstrated great skill and, through "synchronized work," managed to prevent the drones from reaching their targets in Ukrainian territory, as noted in ЦАПЛІЄНКО_UKRAINE FIGHTS.

The activity is described as part of an ongoing effort by the Ukrainian side to adapt to technological changes on the battlefield.
