Wide-scale wave of air strikes in Ukraine

This morning, May 22, 2026, Ukrainian security officials reported a widespread air attack involving the use of various types of drones, including jet-powered vehicles, in several locations across the country. According to Повітряні Сили ЗС України, the official channel of the Ukrainian Air Force, hostile activities were detected in the Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Poltava regions.

In the Chernihiv region, jet drones were reported moving toward Mena and Nizhyn. Simultaneously, in the Poltava region, the movement of aerial vehicles was reported in the Khorol and Myrhorod areas. The Ukrainian Air Force emphasized the severity of the threat directed toward Mykolaiv in the south of the country.

The reporting channel єРадар, which focuses on real-time alerts, noted that targets were identified in the Nikopol and Solone areas of the Dnipropetrovsk region, while targets in the Yampil area were attacked in the Sumy region. Additionally, the channel reported the use of precision-guided munitions (KAB) in the Esman area.

The Telegram channel Реальный Днепр, which reports on events in the Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih areas, confirmed the identification of targets in the Nikopol area and added that some of the aerial vehicles changed course toward Slavhorod in the Zaporizhzhia region. All reporting entities identified with the Ukrainian side are maintaining high alertness and publishing regular updates on the flight paths of the vehicles to warn civilians of immediate dangers.
