In recent days, serious allegations have surfaced against the activities of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC) in the Zhytomyr region. The primary focus of the controversy concerns the approval granted to TCC employees to carry starter pistols while on duty.

According to a report by Новини.LIVE, the deputy commander of the TCC in Zhytomyr, Alexander Retz, clarified during a meeting of the Temporary Special Commission (ТСК) that the law does not prohibit center employees from carrying starter pistols, provided they have a legal permit. Retz noted that "we cannot determine what a citizen is allowed to possess in their private life versus their role as a public official," and added that every unit has a psychologist stationed to monitor the condition of the employees.

At the same time, the critical channel Батальйон «Монако», known for its oppositional stance on current recruitment policies, published a harrowing testimony regarding a 24-year-old medical intern in Zhytomyr. According to the channel, the doctor was held illegally in TCC facilities until he reached age 25, at which point he was sent to a training center. The channel warned that these steps send a worrying message to young people under the age of 22 and may push them to leave the country.
