Attack on UN convoy in Kherson sparks international outrage
On May 16, 2026, it was reported that Russian forces attacked a UN vehicle in the city of Kherson using a drone, after the vehicle crossed the bridge connecting the 'Ostrov' district to the rest of the city. According to reports from БУТУСОВ ПЛЮС, the Russians even posted a video on their social media networks documenting the attack, in which the humanitarian mission markings on the vehicles can be clearly identified.
Березовый сок (a channel expressing clear anti-Russian views) emphasized that the UN had notified both the Ukrainian and Russian sides in advance about the movement of the convoy. The channel harshly criticized the organization and labeled its conduct as "impotent" due to the fact that Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the incident but refrained from pointing to Russia as the responsible party.
