A wave of SBU enforcement actions against Russian agents and collaborators

Counter-espionage and treason operations in Ukraine

In an extensive operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), a number of individuals engaged in subversive activities against the state were uncovered and arrested. In Odesa, a local computer technician was arrested, who according to the SBU was recruited by Russian intelligence via TikTok through a fake account posing as a foreign journalist. The suspect, according to the report on 24 Канал, gathered intelligence on the locations of air defense systems and military vulnerabilities, and faces life imprisonment.

At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities have tightened their proceedings against former Member of Parliament Yevhen Murayev. According to reports by Українська правда and Телебачення Торонто, a new indictment has been filed against him for justifying Russian aggression. Murayev, who is abroad, is accused of promoting pro-Kremlin propaganda, including calling the war an "internal civil conflict" and calling on Ukrainians to lay down their arms.

On the military front, the SBU updated that four more traitors were sentenced to 15 years in prison. These are citizens who fought in the ranks of the Russian army and were captured on the battlefields in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia, as published on the Ми Україна channel.

In addition, an unusual intra-military incident was reported: STERNENKO reported on the arrest of a soldier accused of severe violence against his subordinate during a military briefing. The suspect, nicknamed "Karabas", faces serious charges of torture and desertion, as it turned out that he was already under investigation in a separate case for premeditated murder that occurred during a leave period.
