President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Russia violated the agreements, with 1,820 ceasefire violations noted by the morning hours. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will act with a "symmetrical response," and decisions on further steps will be made in accordance with intelligence and military reports to be received in the evening.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha noted on Ukraine NOW that Moscow's conduct proves that "Russia rejects peace," and that its calls for a ceasefire ahead of May 9 are "fake" intended to serve its parades rather than diplomacy. This approach was reinforced by an advisor to the Minister of Defense, Serhii Sternenko, who was quoted in Times of Ukraine as saying that the Russian attacks effectively cancel any chance for a ceasefire on May 9.

At the same time, it was reported on Цензор.НЕТ on the position of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, which continues to call on the parties to reach a political settlement through dialogue, despite the reality on the ground which indicates a sharp escalation. Additional channels such as ТСН and 24 Канал emphasized that Russia continues to use 'Shahed' UAVs and cruise missiles, which nullifies any meaning to the Kremlin's public statements.
