Ukrainian MP Serhiy Nahorniak stated that the schedules set by the government for completing the protection of electrical substations by September 1 are "unrealistic" according to Times of Ukraine.
Nahorniak's assessment, which has been widely echoed in local media, indicates that the difficulties stem from a severe shortage of personnel and essential resources. In a report by Новини.LIVE, it was noted that this involves protecting thousands of substations across the country. According to Nahorniak, even with optimal management and adequate funding, the works could only be completed by the end of the calendar year.
The messages emerging from the field raise questions about the country's readiness for the coming winter. UA Stream has called on citizens to start stocking up on water reserves in case of prolonged disconnections.
