Moscow fortifies ahead of the May 9 parade

Ahead of Victory Day on May 9, Moscow reports unprecedented security measures. According to the Труха⚡️Україна channel, known for its distinct pro-Ukrainian line, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that this year, a column of heavy military equipment will not participate in the Red Square parade due to the "current situation." At the same time, multiple reports indicate that the Russian capital is being flooded with air defense systems, including S-400 batteries, to "protect the parade" (Мілітарний).

Ukrainian sources, including STERNENKO and Батальйон «Монако», emphasize that special anti-drone nets are currently being stretched over Red Square. The АрміяINFORM channel notes that Russia is entering a state of "almost complete military lockdown," which includes plans to jam the internet and cellular communications within the MKAD zone.

The reports highlight a growing gap between the glory days of past parades and the current situation. According to АрміяINFORM, this is the first parade since 2007 without an armored column, which they say indicates a "lack of resources" and that Russia is unable to display its army as it is "destroyed or required at the front."

In addition, the international presence of leaders at the parade is considered significantly meager compared to previous years. Among Ukrainian Telegram channels, a sense of ironic victory prevails, as they label the moves "weakness" and point out that the heavy security in Moscow leaves other areas in Russia "more exposed than ever" (24 Канал).
