On the night between May 2 and 3, 2026, Ukrainian security officials reported an extensive wave of air attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) that penetrated the country's airspace. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the official source reporting on air defense activity, drones were identified in the Poltava region (Kremenchuk area) moving toward the Cherkasy region, as well as additional aircraft moving toward Kryvyi Rih from the south.
The military monitoring channel War Monitor, identified with ongoing tracking of military activity in the region, updated that "about 40 drones" entered through the Romny and Pryluky districts and made their way toward the Kyiv region.
At the same time, the Telegram channel ХК 🇺🇦 Київ reported on air defense forces operating in the capital, noting that "up to 30 drones" were identified on a flight path aimed toward the city of Kyiv, Ukrainka, and Obukhiv.
The current attack is characterized by the massive use of drones across a wide geographical spread. Official and unofficial Ukrainian sources continue to track aerial movements and report on air defense activity throughout the country.
