The Ukrainian government: No budget for compensation for vehicles destroyed in the war

Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, announced that the state is currently unable to provide financial compensation to citizens whose vehicles were destroyed or damaged as a result of Russian attacks. According to a report by the "Novyny.LIVE" Telegram channel, the minister explained that the lack of resources is due to the state prioritizing the allocation of funds for other urgent needs of restoring assets damaged in the war.

The report, which was also published on the "Operatyvnyi ZSU" channel (which takes a distinctly pro-Ukrainian line and emphasizes the consequences of Russian aggression), notes that "there will be no financial reimbursement at this time for vehicles destroyed by the Russians." However, Kuleba emphasized that if the Ukrainian parliament manages to identify additional funding sources, the government will re-examine the possibility of acting in this area.

The issue of compensation was brought to the agenda after a member of parliament from the "Servant of the People" faction, Volodymyr Kraydenko, claimed earlier that a bill on compensation for vehicles had undergone a process in the relevant committee and had already been recommended for further discussion in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. As of now, it seems that the budgetary reality is delaying the implementation of these measures.
