A combined attack of Russian missiles and UAVs hit five districts in the Kyiv region, leading to the injury of seven people and heavy damage to infrastructure.

Extensive air attack on Kyiv region

During the night of July 2, 2026, Kyiv and its surrounding districts experienced a massive combined air attack from Russia. According to reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy used a wide range of means, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and hundreds of UAVs of various types. At ZSU DVIG, it is noted that the Ukrainian Air Force reported the interception or neutralization of 524 targets out of 570 identified, with the main focus of the attack being the capital of Ukraine.

Field impacts and casualty toll

The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, updated that seven people were injured following the attack. According to reports, there was damage in five different districts: Brovary, Bucha, Obukhiv, Fastiv, and Vyshhorod. In the Bucha district, Kyiv Operative reported that a fire broke out at an industrial plant, and damage was caused to residential buildings and private vehicles.

Scope of damage and responses

The TSN news center noted that the Russians used almost every attack method at their disposal, except for the "Oreshnik" missile. In the Brovary district alone, it was reported that six private houses, dormitories, and vehicles were hit. At the same time, the Kharkiv city authorities, through KP "Kharkiv Heat Networks", published data on the worsening of Russian terror throughout the month of June, highlighting the intensive use of glide bombs (KAB) and FPV drones, which indicates a broad tactical shift in Russian attacks across the country.

All official bodies, including the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, continue to urge residents not to ignore air raid alerts and to stay in shelters.
