Arrest of a cell of impostors operating under the name 'Cumhur İttifak Ocakları'
Security forces in Turkey arrested six suspects after they carried out an improvised and illegal 'inspection' at the 'Park Afyon' mall. As reported on gdh, the suspects claimed to be operating under an organization known as 'Cumhur İttifak Ocakları' (People's Alliance Chambers), and that they were led by a person named Ferhat Aydoğan.
According to reports from Son Dakika Haberleri, an investigation was opened against Aydoğan and his accomplices for 'unlawfully assuming a public role.' The authorities noted that Aydoğan, 41, has a criminal record including 9 previous cases, including crimes of 'fraud under aggravating circumstances.'
In joint reports by Son Dakika Haberler Gündem and Son Dakika Haberler Türkiye, the names of the other detainees were detailed, some of whom have extensive criminal records: A.V. (60) with 6 cases, M.G. (43) with 6 cases, and others with reduced or no criminal history. The affair sparked broad media resonance, as it involved impersonating an institution with a political character associated with the government, while attempting to intimidate business owners under the guise of government authority. As of now, the suspects are being held in custody and the investigation regarding them is ongoing.
