A wave of extensive enforcement actions against organized crime and terrorism in Turkey
Turkish authorities launched large-scale, nationwide enforcement operations today, June 23, 2026, against elements of crime, terrorism, and money laundering. According to a report by Gündem Haber, the government is taking aggressive measures to curb criminal organizations and terrorist elements on a variety of fronts.
Actions against terrorism and visa forgery
In Ankara, an operation against terrorist organizations was reported, during which arrest warrants were issued for 241 suspects, and 209 activists identified with various organizations, including TKP/ML, ISIS, and MLKP, have been arrested so far, as reported in Son Dakika Haberler Gündem. Simultaneously, security forces arrested 64 suspects in 8 provinces for operating a network for forging residence visas for foreign citizens, an activity defined as "organized migrant smuggling" according to gdh.
War on illegal gambling and money laundering
The struggle against illegal gambling has gained momentum with a series of coordinated raids. Gündem Haber reported on the arrest of 67 suspects in an operation in Samsun and 7 other provinces, and the arrest of 10 additional suspects in Siirt for money laundering worth approximately 85 million Turkish Lira. Corruption in the energy sector and key trials
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced an operation against fuel-related fraud, which includes invoice forgery and fictitious exports. According to Haber Gündem, authorities seized 6 companies and appointed trustees to 10 additional firms.
