Marriage grants in Turkey: The government assistance program continues

The Minister of Family and Social Services in Turkey, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, announced that during June 2026, sums totaling 1 billion and 52 million Turkish Lira were paid as marriage assistance for 9,200 young people. The reports, published by news channels gdh, Borsa ve Kripto and Gündem Haber, indicate that the payments are made as part of the "Family and Youth Fund."

According to data published in Gündem Analiz, a channel focusing on economic analysis, 278,275 applications have been submitted to the fund so far, with 160,598 young people receiving assistance totaling approximately 13.9 billion Lira. The program offers loans under favorable 48-month terms with a two-year grace period, depending on the ages of the couple.

The fund's mechanism offers additional incentives to encourage childbirth. According to Gündem Analiz, "In the event that the couple brings children into the world within 48 months, they will receive additional grants and deferrals in loan repayment." So far, it has been reported that among 12,942 couples supported by the fund, 13,126 children have been born.
