According to reports in Turkey, the country is heading towards a broad administrative reform that may increase the number of provinces to 106. According to TGRT HABER, there is a list of 25 districts that are candidates to become independent provinces, a move that will change the face of Turkey's administrative map.

At Haber Gündem channel, they add that eyes are now turned towards the Turkish parliament, where they are waiting for the approval of the official regulation. According to the report, the list of candidates includes settlements with large and significant populations, such as Alanya, Tarsus, Çorlu, and İnegöl, whose size exceeds that of many existing provinces.

The report notes that the move is already raising bureaucratic and symbolic issues, including a debate surrounding the allocation of license plates: "100 numarayı kimse istemiyor" (no one wants number 100), as noted in Haber Gündem.
