[77450] Fenerbahçe Presidential Race: Aziz Yıldırım and Hakan Safi Present Flashy Transfer Promises
The Race for the Fenerbahçe Presidency: Promises of Transfers and Professional Change
In the shadow of the stormy election campaign at the major Turkish club, presidential candidates Aziz Yıldırım and Hakan Safi are competing for the fans' hearts through promises of massive signings of stars. Yıldırım, emphasizing his experience, announced that he has reached an agreement in principle with two world-class strikers and claimed that the club plans to complete most of its signings by June 25. According to Aziz Yıldırım, the message to the fans is clear: "Start preparing for the championship."
At the same time, Hakan Safi has presented his own vision, which includes signing "two to three world stars" alongside two leading local players. Safi promised that the club would soon reveal the operational steps in his work plan, which aims, in his words, to "make Fenerbahçe a champion."
The professional issue is at the center of the debate, as Yağız Sabuncuoğlu notes that the need for new central defenders stems, among other things, from the desire of players like Oosterwolde to explore offers from abroad. Yıldırım is not deterred by the challenge and declares that he intends to strengthen the center of the defense with a right-footed center-back and a left-footed center-back, with the goal of returning the club to the center of the European stage and the Champions League.
Beyond transfers, Yıldırım criticizes the state of refereeing in Turkey and promises that if elected, he will act against the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to ensure sports fairness. Despite the political rivalry, Yıldırım left the door open for future cooperation with Safi, saying: "We are Fenerbahçe fans; even after the elections, we can unite."
