The Turkish Ministry of Trade launched an investigation against a business that sold olives at exorbitant prices

The Turkish Ministry of Trade took enforcement action against a business in the Selçuk district of Izmir, after it was discovered that the place was offering a single olive for 50 Turkish liras, and a kilogram of olives for 1,000 liras. According to a report by Sputnik Türkiye, the action followed the exposure of the unusual prices.

As part of the inspections carried out, state authorities found violations of the Consumer Protection Law (No. 6502). As a result, an administrative fine was imposed on the business. According to Haber Gündem, this is a business located in the Şirince neighborhood, and the investigation file was transferred for further review by the "Unfair Price Evaluation Board" to check whether this is an unjustified price increase.
