Turkey transitions to a digital revolution in medical report management
The Turkish Ministry of Health has published a new official regulation announcing a new era in the process of issuing medical reports in the country. According to the Savunma Sanayi İşçileri Platformu platform, the new regulation is designed "to centralize report preparation processes under one roof," while focusing on full digitization and ensuring uniformity in work procedures at health institutions.
The main change reported by TGRT HABER is the full transition to the e-Nabız system, which allows citizens to issue and manage medical documents online. According to Haber Gündem, the new system does not only include digital availability, but also new restrictions on "sick leave reports" and updated criteria for disability reports and licenses, as part of a move by the Ministry of Health to transition all activities to the e-Devlet interface.
The new regulation redefines clear authorities for individual doctors versus medical committees (Heyet), and establishes uniform standards for a wide range of documents, including: fitness-to-drive reports, employment acceptance, and fitness-to-carry-arms reports. Savunma Sanayi İşçileri Platformu emphasize that the move will prevent the need for citizens to "visit hospitals repeatedly," and will create a central database that allows for efficient information sharing between institutions.
The reporting sources, which include general media outlets and professional platforms, agree that this is a step toward improving bureaucracy. At this stage, no opposing narratives have emerged, as the information focuses on the technical and administrative directives of the Turkish Ministry of Health.
