Security escalation on the northern border: Mutual strikes continue
During the day of May 6, 2026, a significant escalation was reported on the Israel-Lebanon border, as both sides accuse each other of violating the ceasefire. The Turkish channel TRT Haber reported that the Israeli military began a series of strikes against infrastructure in Lebanon, in alleged violation of existing ceasefire understandings.
The news agency İLKHA, which is associated with critical stances toward Israel, claims that "the Zionist regime attacked 12 locations in Lebanon" despite previous commitments. At the same time, the channel Sputnik Türkiye noted that the town of Kafr Joz in southern Lebanon was a primary target for these strikes, and published visual documentation of the event.
On the other hand, the channel Daily Islamist, which presents a line identified with Islamic movements in the region, reported that "Hezbollah drone strikes against IDF forces continue". These reports emphasize the fragility of the situation on the ground, with both sides in an active cycle of combat involving both airstrikes and offensive actions using unmanned aerial vehicles.
