[48504] Field Tours in Turkey: Citizens Express Dissatisfaction with Current Municipal Management
Public Criticism in Field Tours in Turkey
As part of field tours conducted by activists on May 3, 2026, testimonies from citizens emerged indicating dissatisfaction with local management under the rule of the CHP (Republican People's Party).
According to the account eminkaankaya on the X network, which is identified with critical positions toward the current local administration, one citizen was quoted as saying: "I voted for the CHP, but no one other than the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) is capable of doing this municipal work".
The activists conducting the tours claim that they are focusing on listening to residents and identifying problems "on the ground." However, it should be noted that the reports come from political sources with a clear tendency to promote the positions of the AK Parti, using selected quotes to illustrate the management failures of the political rival.
The parallel report by 10mirbeyxx repeated the same work patterns in field tours, while emphasizing the importance of "identifying problems at the meeting point with the citizen." Despite the more limited exposure of this source, the central message remained the same: presenting the disappointment of voters in cities managed by the Turkish opposition.
