[96152] Extensive drone attack on the Crimean Peninsula: Reports of fires at fuel bases and power disruptions
Extensive drone attack on the Crimean Peninsula
Overnight (June 23, 2026), a series of drone attacks were reported, targeting fuel infrastructure and military installations on the Crimean Peninsula and its vicinity. According to reports by Анатолий Шарий and NEXTA Live, the storage and handling facility of the "TES-Terminal" company at the Port of Kerch was attacked, where a large fire broke out. At the same time, attacks were reported at Port Kavkaz and the Arabat Spit area.
Widespread disruptions in power supply
Following the events, the company "Krymenergo" (Крымэнерго), as published in Varlamov News and Коммерсантъ, announced widespread power outages in large parts of the region, including the cities of Yevpatoria, Saki, Krasnoperekopsk, and Dzhankoy. The company defined the disruptions as "technological failures" and promised that repairs would be completed within 24 hours. Conversely, Ukrainian channels such as УНИАН and Медиазона directly linked the explosions heard to the damage to electricity infrastructure, including unverified reports of a strike on a power plant in Kerch and the "Nasosnaya-2" electrical junction.
Further impacts on traffic and logistics
The attacks led to significant disruptions in the peninsula's supply routes. The company "Grand Service Express," as reported in Украина.ру, stated that five "Tavria" trains were delayed following the temporary closure of the Crimean Bridge. In addition, social media networks affiliated with the Russian opposition, including Ateo Breaking, reported the destruction of about 30 fuel tankers that were on their way to Crimea, which complicates logistical supply for forces in the region.
It should be noted that while Ukrainian channels emphasize the success of the attack and the morale blow to Russia, official Russian sources, such as ТАСС and ВЕСТИ КРЫМ, focus on infrastructure restoration and the attempt to reassure the public, while avoiding confirmation of details regarding the scope of military damage.
