[93304] Extensive UAV attack in Crimea and Krasnodar Krai: Massive fires at oil terminals
A night of strikes: Ukraine attacks oil infrastructure in Crimea and Russia
During the night of June 21, the Crimean Peninsula and the Krasnodar Krai region were attacked by an extensive wave of UAVs. According to reports by Крымский ветер (a channel associated with monitoring activity in Crimea), explosions were heard in multiple locations, including Simferopol, Dzhankoy, Sevastopol, and Kerch. The attack focused on strategic logistics and energy assets on both sides of the Kerch Strait.
ASTRA (a channel reporting independently on events in Russia) confirmed that massive fires broke out at the commercial port of Kerch and the "Kavkaz" port on the Russian side. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed in a statement that the attack targets included logistics facilities, oil infrastructure, and air defense systems, including four S-400 radars and two "Pantsir" systems.
The consequences of the attack were immediate: occupation authorities in Crimea, led by Sergey Aksyonov, reported four dead and 28 injured as a result of the attack. Simultaneously, as reported by Телеканал Дождь (an independent Russian channel in exile), ferry services in the Kerch Strait were completely halted, and severe restrictions were imposed on fuel sales at gas stations on the peninsula, with fuel now allocated for state services only.
Zлой Пруф (a pro-Russian oriented channel highlighting damage to civilians) emphasized the damage to the "Panagia" ferry and the difficult situation of civilians left without the ability to refuel. Conversely, Ukrainian sources such as УНИАН celebrated the strike on the "logistics pipeline" of the Russian occupation, emphasizing that trails of smoke from the fires were visible for tens of kilometers.
