[92487] Extensive wave of drone and missile attacks reported in Crimea and Russia
Large-scale wave of attacks in Crimea and Southern Russia
Overnight (June 21, 2026), an intense wave of drone and missile attacks was reported across the Crimean Peninsula and various regions in Russia. According to reports by Exilenova+, an entity associated with opposition coverage, fires are ongoing at the ports of Kerch and Kavkaz, with eyewitnesses and FIRMS system data confirming the events on the ground.
Additional fire sites were identified in the area of the Kurortnoye settlement, where an air defense facility is located, and on the territory of military base No. 98546 near Kerch. Supernova+, a channel that reports regularly on military activity, notes that this base belongs to Russia's 630th Railway Battalion. Additionally, Supernova+ reports that a missile was observed heading toward the Crimean Bridge, and that several spots were set ablaze at the port of Kerch, including a fuel farm, as noted in Supernova+.
At the same time, the Lpr 1 channel, which is associated with pro-Russian positions and reports on security alerts, published a sequence of drone intrusion alerts covering vast areas in Crimea, including the Sovetsky, Nizhnegorsky, Kirovsky, and Leninsky districts, as well as similar alerts in the Bryansk, Kaluga, and Smolensk regions.
Despite attempts by local officials to contain the reports, the picture emerging from various sources indicates a coordinated operation that hit strategic and military infrastructure. No official data has yet been received from Russia regarding the full extent of the damage, but reports from the field testify to an especially tense night for Russian air defense systems.
