Widespread wave of unmanned aerial vehicle attacks across the Crimean Peninsula and Russia
During the night of June 20, 2026, the Telegram channel Lpr 1 – a source identified with pro-Russian positions and providing ongoing updates on security alerts – reported an unusual wave of alerts regarding unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks in numerous locations. According to the reports, residents of the Crimean Peninsula and Sevastopol were instructed to prepare for a "massive attack" of UAVs, while similar warnings were issued for the Zaporizhzhia, Krasnodar, Bryansk, Kursk regions, and other districts.
The reports pointed to a variety of threats, including electric-powered aerial vehicles as well as threats to civilian vessels in the Black Sea from unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). At the peak of the events, residents in areas such as Simferopol, Gvardeyskoye, and Sevastopol were asked not to ignore shelter instructions due to the increased presence of hostile vehicles in the sky.
At the same time, the Telegram channel 13 TACTICAL – which presents positions defined as pro-Russian – called on residents of northern Sevastopol to take strict precautionary measures. The channel emphasized that this was a real danger and that defense guidelines should not be taken lightly.
System data indicates that this was a widespread event that received approximately 1.9 million cumulative views throughout the day. While some alerts in regions like Rostov were later canceled, as reported by Lpr 1, in other places like Crimea and the regions bordering the frontier, the situation remained tense throughout the night with reports of repeated drone movements.
