[51736] Tourism news in Russia: Use of artificial intelligence to locate hotels and tips for summer vacation
The fight against unauthorized accommodation facilities and tips for planning summer vacation
As part of the efforts to regulate the Russian tourism industry, the FSCP channel reported that the Federal Accreditation Service ("RusAccreditation") has begun using artificial intelligence to locate hotels and vacation apartments operating without a permit. According to the report, the system will scan ads on websites and advertising platforms to cross-reference data against the official federal registry, which currently includes about 29,200 approved accommodation locations.
According to FSCP reports, the head of the service, Dmitry Volvach, noted that the project is "already almost implemented in practice." The goal is to pass information about irregularities to regional authorities who will conduct an on-site inspection. This initiative comes against the backdrop of tightening regulation in Russia, which since September 2025 has required all accommodation service operators to register in the government registry.
At the same time, the РИА Новости channel, known for its editorial line supporting the Russian government, offers economic guidelines for travelers. According to the channel, July is the most profitable month for a vacation in 2026, due to "a higher number of working days" in that same month, which affects salary and vacation calculations.
