The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced today, May 5, 2026, the arrest of a medical institution employee in Donetsk on suspicion of committing the crime of treason. According to reports, the suspect established contact with the security services of Ukraine and provided them with strategic intelligence.
According to СОЛОВЬЁВ – a channel associated with clear pro-Kremlin positions – the suspect provided details regarding the location of Russian military units in the areas of Khartsyzsk and the Makeyevka district. In addition, it is claimed that he transmitted sensitive information about "patients hospitalized in the medical institution as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
Similar reports were also published by the state news agency ТАСС and other channels such as Юлия Витязева and RusPanorama новости. All sources emphasize that the suspect acted as an agent on behalf of Ukrainian elements while exploiting his medical role. The channel RusPanorama новости defined the Ukrainian security services in harsh terms, referring to the handover of information about wounded soldiers as assisting the opposing side in the war.
As of now, Russian authorities have not yet released the full identity of the suspect, but noted that he is under intensive investigation by the FSB for cooperating with "foreign special services."
