The Rehovot Municipality Workers' Committee has announced a general strike that will begin this coming Tuesday, against the backdrop of a severe crisis with the municipal management.
Toward a general strike in Rehovot Municipality
Residents of the city of Rehovot are facing significant disruptions to municipal services, after the workers' committee announced a general strike. According to the report in 🔞 Israel News | Uncensored Israel News, the conflict between the parties has reached a boiling point that could lead to a widespread shutdown as early as the coming days.
According to the statement from the workers' committee, the strike is expected to begin this coming Tuesday at 06:00 AM and continue "until further notice," as reported in 🎗️Israel News IL🎗️. The strike will encompass all municipal units, with one central exception: special education frameworks will continue to operate as usual for the benefit of the public.
The workers' committee claims that this extreme step is being taken due to "harming employees and promoting unilateral moves" by the management. As of now, the Rehovot Municipality management has yet to release its official response to the events, with 🎗️Israel News IL🎗️ noting that the response will be published once it is received.
