Smotrich warns against a "rollback" in Judea and Samaria

Against the backdrop of political tension, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issued a sharp warning in an interview with "Makor Rishon," as reported by Amit Segal. According to Smotrich, he possesses "knowledge" of talks taking place between senior officials in the European Union and senior officials in the current coalition, with the goal of establishing a government led by Naftali Bennett and Gadi Eisenkot.

Smotrich claimed that the goal of the emerging move is "a rollback of everything I have done in Judea and Samaria in this government and a return to a diplomatic framework." According to Amit Segal, the minister clarified that the implication of such a government would be the evacuation of farms and new settlements established during his tenure.

Smotrich, known for his distinct right-wing stance and vigorous promotion of settlement in Judea and Samaria, compared the current claim to his past prediction regarding Bennett joining Ra'am. "This is not an assessment but knowledge. Just as I said from knowledge that Bennett would join Abbas after the elections, so it is now. Absolute knowledge," the minister emphasized.
