This morning, June 18, 2026, Moscow experienced a significant Ukrainian UAV attack focused on oil refineries in the Russian capital region. According to Abu Ali Express (which presents a critical position toward Iran and the Axis of Resistance and supports the Israeli position), this is an extensive attack on facilities that were also targeted a few days ago, against the backdrop of what was defined as a "fuel shortage" in Moscow.
In a more detailed report by Abu Ali Express, it was noted that one of the attacked refinery facilities is located only about 15 km from the Kremlin. The facility has a processing capacity of about 11.6 million tons of petroleum products per year, and it is a critical source that supplies about 40% of the fuel consumption of Moscow and the Moscow region.
NTD News Hebrew (which takes a critical line toward Russia and supports the Ukrainian position) reported that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, referred to the attack as "long-term sanctions," and defined it as an appropriate response to the Russian attacks on cities and towns in Ukraine.
According to the NTD report, sources in Russia reported the interception and downing of about 194 Ukrainian UAVs on the outskirts of the capital. Despite the fires that broke out at several sites as a result of the strikes, no casualties have been reported at this stage.
