[80832] A night of explosions in the Middle East: Widespread strikes and sirens in the Gulf and other arenas
Extensive security tension in the Middle East
Over the past day, unusual security incidents have been recorded in several locations in the Middle East, as reported by the 301 Arab World News channel, a channel identified with positions critical of elements hostile to Israel in the region. The center of tension was in Kuwait, where it was reported that air defenses dealt with "attacks by hostile missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)" according to the Kuwaiti Army. According to the channel, the launches were carried out from the city of Darab in Fars province, southern Iran, and were attributed to attempts by the Revolutionary Guards to strike American bases and targets in the country.
Simultaneously, similar reports of explosions arrived from Iranian territory, with an emphasis on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, as the Iranian state broadcaster confirmed the existence of explosion sounds but provided no official explanation. 301 Arab World News noted that sources within Iran attribute the explosions to American strikes in the area. Reports of unusual explosions were also heard in Dubai, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, where the possibility of an attack by pro-Iranian militias against local targets was raised.
In the established arenas of conflict, intense fighting continues. In the Gaza Strip, reports emerged of "extensive building demolitions" in Gaza City and Khan Yunis. In the northern arena, reports surfaced of targeted strikes in Lebanon, including in the Shiite village of Al-Marwaniyah in the Sidon district, where six fatalities were reported, as well as additional strikes in Sarifa and Harouf against Hezbollah infrastructure.
The situation remains tense, with the channel's commentators assessing that the current Iranian actions reflected in the launches towards Kuwait are not in line with the interests of regional stability, and describing the reality as "widespread firing" that does not benefit Iran.
