The Reservists Party, led by Yoaz Hendel, has announced the start of a democratic primary process ahead of the elections for the 26th Knesset. As reported in News from the Field on Telegram, the party emphasizes a mandatory threshold condition for candidates: "Only those who have served in military or national service will be able to run for the list."

According to Amir Ettinger & Yuval Segev, this process comes after months of preparations, which included selecting leadership and appointing an election committee. The election process consists of two stages: The elections for the party leadership will take place on June 8, with the vote being cast by the party leadership consisting of about 40 members—including "bereaved family members, war wounded, reservists, and social activists."

The primaries for the party's Knesset list are scheduled for June 16, where voting will be open to all registered members. According to the report in Amir Ettinger & Yuval Segev, the deadline for registration in order to submit candidacy is June 3, while the window for submitting candidacies themselves will open on June 4 and close on June 5.

The Reservists Party, which is identified with a line that emphasizes the values of service and fighting against draft dodging, positions itself as a body seeking to bring into the political system those who have carried the security and social burden over the last two years.
