A civilian initiative for the war-wounded in Judea and Samaria
After experiencing firsthand the difficulty of finding adequate rehabilitative care in the Judea and Samaria region, Gilad, a soldier who was wounded during the war, established the "Oz LaGibor" (Strength for the Hero) home in Ariel. The initiative, reported on News from the Field on Telegram, is intended to provide a solution for hundreds of wounded individuals who have until now been forced to travel as far as central or northern Israel to receive care and support.
According to Gilad, this is a critical need for approximately 3,000 wounded individuals from the Judea and Samaria region. As of today, the center in Ariel provides a permanent solution for 167 wounded individuals, but according to the founders, there are hundreds more waiting to receive support.
In order to continue operating the facility, the maintenance costs of which are described as a "huge capital," Gilad is appealing to the public to join as partners with a monthly contribution of 18 shekels. According to the reports, the goal is to ensure the continued operation of the center and provide the soldiers with a place "to rest, relax, and receive support," a need defined by the founders as the "call of the hour."
The initiative is receiving wide exposure on social media, with approximately 3,997 cumulative views on reports in News Line and News from the Field. The organizers emphasize that every monthly donation changes lives for the wounded who are in need of a rehabilitative support system close to their homes.
