Liri Albag, who returned from Hamas captivity, has been discharged from the IDF
In a moving and symbolic event, Liri Albag, who was kidnapped to Gaza during the October 7th attack and returned home in the hostage deal, was officially discharged from IDF service today (Wednesday).
According to a report by Israel Hayom, Albag shared a picture in which she is seen using scissors to cut her military ID card, under the headline "Scissors and a cut-up ID: Liri Albag has been discharged from the IDF" (link to report).
Kav HaHadashot also reported on the event, which constitutes a significant personal closure for Albag. Her discharge from the military symbolizes for her another step on the road to recovery following the difficult months she endured in captivity.
Albag, who was a lookout (observer) when she was kidnapped, now becomes an ordinary citizen after finishing her period of regular service.
