Regional tension is reaching a new peak regarding control over the Strait of Hormuz. According to a report by Kan 11 | Arab-Palestinian Desk, the head of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that the strait is an economic and military "leverage tool" that will remain under Iranian management "permanently." According to him, Tehran will not be "lenient" toward countries seeking to demonstrate force in this waterway.

At the same time, the Iranian ambassador to Cairo, Mojtaba Ferdowsi Pour, emphasized in an interview with Al-Jazeera (as reported on Kan 11) that the strait is closed to "enemy countries" such as the US and Israel. Ferdowsi Pour presented a detailed roadmap for negotiations with the US, which includes in the first stage ending the war, then payment of reparations and lifting of sanctions, and only in the final stage a discussion on the nuclear issue, which he refused to concede.

According to the report, the Iranian proposals include an American withdrawal from areas adjacent to Iran, which raises questions regarding the Trump administration's ability to agree to such terms.

In the diplomatic arena, the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed Al-Ansari, noted (according to Kan 11) that intensive efforts led by Pakistan are taking place to ensure continued calm and prevent escalation. In parallel, it was reported on Israel News IL that the Iranian Parliament is formulating a formal legal framework for the tight control and management of the strait, a step that may deepen the tension with the West.
