As part of the IDF's annual training program for 2026, two significant military exercises will take place on Tuesday, May 19, in different locations across the country.

The exercise in Eilat:
According to an announcement by the IDF Spokesperson as published on 301 World News Arab World, starting from 06:00 in the morning until the evening hours, a joint exercise of the IDF and the Israel Police will take place in the Eilat city area. As part of this, residents are expected to notice "active movement of security forces, naval vessels, and aircraft," and will also "hear sounds of gunfire." The IDF Spokesperson clarified that this is pre-planned activity and that in the event of a real incident, regular updates will be provided to the public.

The exercise in Nahariya:
At the same time, Kav HaHadashot reports that another military exercise will take place in Nahariya and the surrounding area, starting from the morning hours of Tuesday. According to the report, "active movement of military forces and security vehicles in the city and the area" is expected. The 'Kav HaHadashot' system reassured the public and emphasized that "there is no fear of a security incident" and that it is training activity only.
