Following the distribution of the video, Rabbi Haim Tiberia, a Chabad emissary in the Florentin neighborhood, reached out and confirmed on the Yinon Magal Channel that he is the man documented in the event. According to him, "this homeless man wanted to commit suicide" and was in a state of deep despair.
The event also gained traction on Zirat HaHadashot, which reported on the case under the headline of urgent medical assistance provided by the stand activist. These channels, identified with a conservative-right-wing line that often emphasizes the importance of community and religious action within the secular space, used the footage to highlight the movement's charitable activities.
Rabbi Tiberia took advantage of the exposure to appeal to the public for donations for the continued operation of the tefillin stands and assistance in the Florentin neighborhood, noting that he had previously received similar assistance through these platforms.
