[55841] Sharp criticism in the Knesset: Hostage survivor Rom Braslavsky against the leadership
The cry of the hostage survivor in the Knesset: "You killed the people of Israel"
During a press conference of the "October Council" at the opening of the Knesset's summer session, Rom Braslavsky, a hostage survivor, delivered a charged and difficult speech directed at the members of the house. According to a report on Hadashot Mehashetah (News from the Field) on Telegram, a channel that presents a critical line toward the country's leadership and Netanyahu, Braslavsky described the harsh conditions in captivity, including malnutrition that led him to a weight of 47 kg, and described physical abuse by Islamic Jihad terrorists.
Braslavsky drew a shocking parallel between the Nukhba terrorists who operated at the Nova and the political responsibility in the Knesset: "At the Nova were the Nukhbas, and here in the Knesset sit those responsible for what happened," he said. According to the official channel of Ben Caspit, known for a biting critical line toward the government, Braslavsky called on the Knesset members to "be ashamed of yourselves and get out of our lives."
At the climax of the speech, Braslavsky chose to conclude with a pessimistic and particularly shocking message. Instead of the conventional phrase "The people of Israel live," he declared: "The people of Israel have long since not been living, you killed it." The remarks were made after he noted that two months ago he visited the party site in Re'im to "close a circle," but now feels that the Knesset is the place where the deepest moral failure lies.
