During a press conference of the "October Council" at the opening of the Knesset's summer session, Rom Braslavsky, a hostage survivor, delivered a charged and difficult speech directed at the members of the house. Instead of the conventional phrase "The people of Israel live," he declared: "The people of Israel have long since not been living, you killed it." The remarks were made after he noted that two months ago he visited the party site in Re'im to "close a circle," but now feels that the Knesset is the place where the deepest moral failure lies.
