Weather forecast: drop in temperatures and rain system in the north and center

According to the update from Weather Ltd., today, Monday, May 4, 2026, a "significant drop in temperatures" is being felt and it is becoming colder than usual for the season. During the day it is expected to be partly cloudy, with intermittent rain falling in the north of the country and possible thunderstorms, while in the center "local rain, mostly light" is expected. Additionally, it was reported that snow is expected to fall at the Mount Hermon site.

At the same time, Israel News IL reports that alongside the rains and strong winds, there is a "slight risk of flash floods" in the Jordan Valley. The channel notes that the current weather system is expected to continue into Tuesday, with a gradual warming starting Wednesday and pleasant weather close to the average towards the weekend.

Sea conditions and recommendations for the public

The sea state was defined as "rough to stormy" by Weather Ltd., with significant wave heights ranging between 260 and 450 centimeters. A black flag is raised on the beaches, and the public is requested to swim only at declared beaches.

For daily activity, Weather Ltd. recommends being equipped with a light jacket over a short-sleeved shirt, and notes that moderate mosquito activity is expected in most parts of the country. Temperatures will range from -3° to 0° on Mount Hermon and from 17° to 25° in the Ein Gedi area.
