[48632] The situation in As-Suwayda: Allegations of harm to Druze by Jordan and a call for Israeli assistance
Reports of Jordanian airstrikes in As-Suwayda, Syria, alongside an urgent Druze demand for Israel to open a humanitarian corridor and intervene in what is happening.
Increasing tension on Mount Bashan: Druze demand for Israeli humanitarian aid
Against the backdrop of the complex fighting in Syria, the Telegram channel Mered HaKhalifim, which presents a distinctly pro-Israeli stance, reports on airstrikes by the Jordanian Air Force against targets in the town of Shaqqa in the As-Suwayda province. According to the channel, Jordan justifies the military activity as a fight against drug infrastructure, but local testimonies published on the channel, including the words of Sheikh Fadi Badriya, claim that "the place is clean of drugs or criminal activity" according to the Mered HaKhalifim report.
In Mered HaKhalifim, they heavily criticize the siege imposed on the Druze in the area and claim that they are under constant threat from hostile elements, including members of "Jolani." The channel alleges that dozens of women and hostages have disappeared, and that two teenagers were recently murdered in local prisons. In light of the situation, the content creators on the channel are appealing directly to the highest levels in Israel with a demand to open an "immediate humanitarian corridor" and provide backing to their Syrian brethren.
At the same time, the Abu Ali Express channel, which is identified with a line supporting Israel and national positions, emphasizes the deep connection between the Israeli public and the Druze community. Content creator Khalifa Khalifa, who also operates "Mered HaKhalifim," calls in his lecture "I am Druze" to learn in depth about the "story of an alliance, identity, and shared destiny" according to the Abu Ali Express channel. According to him, the Druze in Syria "are fighting the same enemies that Israel is fighting," and were even recently documented waving the Israeli flag as a call for help.
The situation in Syria and the connection with the Druze community continue to be at the center of the security and social debate, as voices from the field warn against the isolation of the Druze in the face of threats from local forces and foreign interventions.
